I love Creative Fabrica, Elements, Vexels, and Vecteezy as much as anyone. However, don’t just use their graphics as is.
“But you recommend these services!?” I hear you scream. Let me explain.
So you’re using these services because you either don’t have the skills to create your own graphics, or you’re wanting to expand your print-on-demand business at a faster rate. This is all completely fine.
Let’s take Vexels for example, as this is the easiest to demonstrate.
They sell ready-made t-shirt designs that you can download, upload to Printify or any other POD site and start selling right away.
But the issue is, what’s the difference between the Vexels design that you’re selling and the Vexels design that someone else is selling? The answer is essentially nothing.
Now, what’s the difference between your $25 t-shirt with a Vexels design on it, and someone else’s $22 t-shirt with the same Vexels design on it? The price.
And now what’s the difference between yours, and the 100s of other sellers selling the same Vexel design? Probably just the price.
If you take a ready-made design and make no alternations to it, then your design won’t stand out and the only way to stand out in a marketplace is to be the cheapest.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be the cheapest. Especially since that also means lower profit margins.
So what can you do?
It’s quite simple really. You can still use these graphic sites. I do.
But you need to take the graphic and alter it in some way. Or incorporate it into a bigger design, add text, change colors, etc…
This way the customer cannot directly compare it to another store. The design is now uniquely yours and more likely to sell.
