Why Ecommerce Tom?
I created this site with an aim of helping budding entrepreneurs, artists and business owners sell online by leveraging online services, mainly focusing on print on demand.
Print on demand has exploded in popularity in recent years, and while it is easy to get started, there are still road blocks and issues that we face. By creating educational posts and videos, I’m hoping to lessen those road blocks.
Who is Tom?
My full name is Tom Hale, I live in the English countryside with my partner and two dogs (Keiko and Haru).
I’ve had many businesses over the years, the first I started when I was around 16 years old. Later, I was employed as a web/graphic designer. This employment was an important lesson, it taught me that I didn’t belong in the standard 9 to 5.
It took me 5 years to realise this, in less than a year I managed to build a business that allowed me to escape.
I didn’t realise this at the time, but this business was only a success because of all my previous failures.
Failure
Most of my businesses have failed in one way or another. Failure is part of the journey, and every failure is a lesson.
My first business was selling Nintendo DS flash cartridges, this failed because of legal issues. Lesson learnt.
My second business was a screen-printed clothing line. This fail because I didn’t have the time or resources to run it. Lesson learnt.
My third business was a dropshipping phone case company. This failed because the shipping times were too long and the products were low quality. Lesson learnt.
I could go on and on about my failures, but the point I want to make is that you will fail, but treat each failure as a lesson for your next chapter.
I now run a successful business powered by print-on-demand that turns over $100,000s each year and continues too grow.
Ecommerce Tom is another chapter in my life, not because my business has failed. This time it’s because I want to help people. I want to help you separate your time and income, or earn a side income by leveraging online services such as POD.
